Introduction to Beekeeping

DCBA values educating the community. Each year we offer an introductory course where you will be:

  • Invited to join our beekeeping community who values sharing information with each other.
  • Invited to participate in DCBA apiary workdays.
  • Assisted in deciding if you want to become a beekeeper.
  • Prepared to set up a colony of bees.
  • Supported by local beekeepers if you set up a colony.
  • Prepared to get a hive through their first winter.
  • Prepared for the Certification Exams of the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association’s Certification
