November 21, 2016 Meeting – 2017 Officer Elections

Our November 21 meeting will start at 6:30p.m. at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens.

At this meeting we will elect the officers and executive committee members for 2017 and will  plan for next year.

We meet every third Monday of the month at this location. Everyone is welcome!
Note: Our own Donna Devanney will raffle off bee equipment at this meeting with proceeds donated to DCBA! Please bring cash or check.

March Meeting

The Tuesday, March 15th DCBA meeting will be held at the Durham Cooperative Extension, located at 721 Foster Street @ 6:30pm (new, temporary location is across the street from Cocoa Cinnamon. There is usually parking on the north side of the building.)

Our speaker is the DCBA member, Jack Bishop and he will be discussing queen genetics, including his successes and challenges.. Please come join us and bring your Beekeeping questions for discussion with those present.  All are welcome!

February Meeting

The Tuesday, February 16th DCBA meeting will be held at the Durham Cooperative Extension, located at 721 Foster Street @ 6:30pm (new, temporary location is across the street from Cocoa Cinnamon. There is usually parking on the north side of the building.)

Our speaker is the DCBA president, Matthew Yearout and he will talk about Swarms and Splits. Please come join us and bring your Beekeeping questions for discussion with those present.  All are welcome!

January meeting and Bee School 2016

The Tuesday, January 19th DCBA meeting will be held at the Durham Cooperative Extension, located at 721 Foster Street @ 6:30pm (new, temporary location is across the street from Cocoa Cinnamon. There is usually parking on the north side of the building.)

Our speaker is the regional NCSBA representative Todd Walker. We will be discussing our club’s role in the NCSBA and any other topics from those present.  All are welcome!

Dues reminder:  please bring $10 (cash or check) for 2016 DCBA and $15 for NCSBA if you’d like to join both!

This coming Monday (MLK day) is the first day of the 2016 Durham Bee School! 10 Mondays, JAN. 18-MARCH 21, 6:30-8:30 pm at Duke Gardens.

No December meeting – Bee School 2016 Registration

We had our last meeting for this year on Monday, November 16th.  We elected the DCBA club officers for 2016 and worked as a group to plan activities and topics to cover for next year.

The next three meetings for January, February and March will be held at the Durham Cooperative Extension, located at 721 Foster Street.  The April and subsequent meetings will be held at our usual location, at Duke Gardens.
